Join us for the first installment of our streaming programming this semester!
We begin our series with an informal chat with Dr. John Dutcher, Director of the Nanoscience program and the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Chairin Novel Sustainable Nanomaterials.
John joined the Department of Physics in 1990, quickly making a name for himself in the rapidly emerging field of polymer physics, notably in the development and study of freely standing tri-layer films which have become known in the literature as ‘Dutcher films’. John’s research grew and expanded into biological materials as well, eventually resulting in the development of a phytoglycogen nanoparticle extracted from sweet corn. This novel material became the basis for Mirexus Biotechnologies, a company which seeks to utilize these monodisperse particle as delivery agents for applications within the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and personal care industries.
John will join us for a live conversation streaming over YouTube, as well as a Q&A where he can answer your questions live.
