Abstract
Calculating the imaginary parts of Feynman diagrams is useful for a variety reasons, including calculating the diagrams themselves. There is a direct diagrammatic way to calculate these imaginary parts, by taking so-called unitarity cuts. I present an introduction starting from the basics of QFT, based on the approach in the classic paper "Diagrammar" by ’t Hooft and Veltman (PDF) [1].
