Abstract
It is well known that the Standard Model (SM) of fundamental particles and the interactions with SU(3)C x SU(2)L x U(1)Y gauge symmetry are able to describe experimental facts in particle physics with high precision. Such is the case with the recent confirmation of the Higgs boson particle by CERN and LHC. Some researchers are motivated to work in extensions of SM since it leaves many unanswered questions. Thus, extensions of the SM with SU(3)C x SU(4)L x U(1)X gauge symmetry (3-4-1 model) could provide viable candidates to a kind of Dark Matter in the Universe. In this seminar, I will present the particle content and structures of the Standard Model as well as a study of the scalar sector for 3-4-1 model.
