Eric Poisson, Chair, Department of Physics, presents  the J.B. Reynolds Graduation Medal to Matthew O'Halloran

Congratulations to Matthew O'Halloran on being awarded the J.B. Reynolds Graduation Medal in Physics for the 2011-2012 academic year. This Medal is awarded to the top graduating student who has completed semester 8 of any of the majors in Physics and obtained the highest cumulative average in the required Physics courses, normally taken in semester 5-8.

Congratulations to Phys Phest 2011 award winners!

Phys Phest, a symposium of talks by M.Sc. students who are completing their first year in our program, was held on September 7th.

The audience was treated to eight excellent presentations on a diverse range of high-quality research. The presentations were judged by members of the audience.

First prize was awarded to Kyle Reiter for his presentation, "Surface Plasmon Resonance Imaging of the Enzymatic Degradation of Cellulose Fibers".

Adam Pound to receive 2011 Governor General’s Gold Medal

Congratulations to Adam Pound who has been awarded the 2011 Governor General's Gold Medal. The Governor General's Gold Medal is awarded each year for outstanding academic achievement at the graduate level of study. This award will be presented at the Graduate Studies convocation ceremony on Tuesday, June 15th, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.
